LESLEY REBECCA PHILLIPS

Candidate for 4-year ballot seat on the Democratic State Committee (representing Allston-Brighton, Cambridge, Charlestown, Chelsea, Everett, Revere, Saugus and Somerville*)

Lesley Phillips for Democratic State Committee

Election to be held February 5, 2008

Dear friends,

I will be on the ballot, at the upcoming "presidential" primary, for Democratic State Committeewoman for the Middlesex, Suffolk & Essex District. If you live in this district* (also known as the Galluccio -- formerly Barrios -- senate district), and are eligible to vote in the Democratic primary**, I would appreciate your vote! (Don't forget -- the date of the primary was recently moved up to Tuesday, February 5, 2008!)

*The Middlesex, Suffolk & Essex District includes all of Charlestown, Chelsea and Everett; Cambridge Wards 6 and 7, most of Ward 8 and parts of Wards 3, 9 and 10; parts of Wards 1 and 2 in Somerville; Ward 6 in Revere; and portions of Allston-Brighton and Saugus. (If you're not sure which district you are actually in, go to www.wheredoivotema.com, or check with your local election office.)

**To vote, you must be registered by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, January 16. In addition to registered Democrats, unenrolled voters and voters enrolled under a "political designation" (not another party) are eligible to request ballots for the Democrat primary when you arrive at your polling place. As well as voting for the two state committee seats in the district, you will of course be able to vote for your preference for U.S. president, and for members of your local Democratic ward or town committee.

I have been active in Democratic politics throughout my life, and in Massachusetts for the past 25 years, most recently as a ward coordinator for Governor Deval Patrick and as Cambridge city coordinator for one of last year's lieutenant governor candidates. I am eager to play an active and vigorous role in the important work of the State Committee, and I hope that I can count on your support.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with me by phone (617-547-6465) or email me at Lesley@LesleyPhillips.org.

Democratically yours,

Lesley
